How to use Mounjaro uk . Mounjaro uk is a once-weekly injection administered just under the skin (subcutaneously) using a pre-filled pen. The specific steps vary slightly depending on whether you have a single-dose pen or a multi-dose KwikPen, but the general process involves preparation, injection, and safe disposal. 

Always read the complete Instructions for Use that comes with your pen and consult your healthcare provider for training on safe injection techniques before your first use. 
General Instructions
  • Frequency: Inject Mounjaro one time each week on the same day. You can choose any time of day, with or without meals.
  • Injection Sites: The recommended sites are the stomach (abdomen, at least 2 inches away from the belly button) or the thigh. The back of the upper arm can be used if another person is giving you the injection.
  • Rotation: Change (rotate) your injection site with each dose to prevent skin irritation or lumps. You can use the same general area, but choose a different spot within that area.
  • Storage: Unused pens must be stored in the refrigerator between 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C). Do not freeze Mounjaro.
  • Missed Dose: If you miss a dose and it has been 4 days or less, inject it as soon as you remember. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and resume your usual schedule. Do not take two doses within 3 days. 
Step-by-Step Guide (Single-Dose Pen)
Most users receive the single-dose pre-filled pen, which is simpler to use as it doesn’t require manual dosing or needle attachment. 
  1. Prepare: Wash your hands with soap and water. Take the pen from the refrigerator and check the label for the correct medication, dose, and expiration date. The liquid should be colorless to slightly yellow and clear.
  2. Choose Site: Select your injection site (stomach or thigh are easiest for self-injection).
  3. Remove Cap: Pull the gray base cap straight off. Do not put it back on after removal.
  4. Place on Skin & Unlock: Place the clear base of the pen flat and firmly against your skin at the injection site. Turn the lock ring to the unlock position (open padlock symbol).
  5. Inject: Press and hold the purple injection button. You will hear a first click when the injection starts and a second click when it is complete (up to 10 seconds). The gray plunger should be visible in the dose window after the second click.
  6. Remove: Pull the pen straight out from your skin.
  7. Dispose: Immediately place the used pen into an FDA-cleared sharps disposal container. Do not reuse the pen.
